ToolDefinition#

class zett_agent.model.ToolDefinition(name, description, parameters, deferred=False, local_tool_search=False)[source]#

Provider-neutral tool metadata supplied with a model request.

Parameters:

  • name (str)

  • description (str)

  • parameters (Mapping[str, Any])

  • deferred (bool)

  • local_tool_search (bool)

name: str#

Unique provider-visible function name.

description: str#

Natural-language purpose used by the model to select this tool.

parameters: Mapping[str, Any]#

JSON Schema describing the tool’s keyword arguments.

deferred: bool#

Whether a Responses API provider may defer loading this definition until tool search selects it. Other provider protocols ignore this flag.

Whether this definition answers client-side tool search for one request.

The Responses adapter renders it as the local tool_search endpoint (execution: "client") instead of a model-visible function, and the Agent dispatches every search request to it. Other provider protocols reject it.
